i'm looking for a job

Well, since I don't have a job, I figure there's no excuse for not doing my blog again...realizing that I haven't posted since my birthday of last year.

I'm lucky enough to have received some career counseling in my severance package from my former employer. At first I was psyched to have the counseling, as it was always something that I thought that I would need to find a career that I truly loved. But after my first meeting I was a bit skeptical. It felt like I was taking a class on how to look for a job not learning how to identify the job that was right for me. But I just had my third meeting and I'm really excited now. I have a HUGE list of possible careers that I am going to review and, hopefully, put into some kind of rating system so that I can decide which one(s) to move forward with.

In other news, I am finally finishing the afghan for my friends' wedding that was almost a year ago. According to Emily post, I have one year from the wedding to send my gift. I think I'm barely going to make it.

Along the knitting theme, I've decided no more tops until i lose more weight. I did the Back to School vest by Stefanie Japel and it fits great. But I still look like a cow! I'll have the yarn for another Stefanie Japel pattern next week, but I'm holding off until I am at least ten pounds close to my goal weight. Which means I have to start watching what I eat again and getting out and moving more. Should be easy since I don't have a job, huh?!?!?!?

Last, but not least, I am going to participate in a fiber artists' art exhibit. I've never thought of myself as very creative, but this sounds cool and I really want to do it. If you're interested, check out the Milkweed Project.
